Take the Good With the Bad and Move On

There is no doubt that in life there will be good and bad times.  The task is to accept both.  In the good and the bad that we all face there is a lesson for us to examine, take hold of, and move forward from.

Accepting the Good

It is so easy to live when things are good.  When everything is going well being motivated and optimistic is like second nature.  I heard once that when things are going too well, that means something bad is about to happen.  I don’t how true it is, but I can tell you that when things are good is the time to relish the moment and put away something for a rainy day.

When I talk about putting something away for a rainy day, I’m not talking about money.  I’m speaking of energy, emotions, and motivation.  Mostly everything in the universe has a cycle, so why should we be left out.  The seasons, the weather, and the plants are just a few examples.  No one likes to be surprised with bad things, so the mindset is key here along with planning.

Your mindset can either help you or hinder you.  When times are good, it’s wise to set your vision, plan out your strategy of production, and practice your positive affirmations.  Set a routine of production and thankfulness.

Accepting the Bad

No one likes it, yet the bad times come.  The challenge is to not fall completely apart or give up on everything you worked hard for.  Bad can mean different things for each of us.  For some, it could be money issues, while for others it could mean illness in the family or other things.  Whatever it may be it is not accepted with open arms.

Bad times are going to come.  During those times we sometimes must remind ourselves of our purpose or goals to get ourselves through it.  This is also the time to pull out that stash of energy, motivation, and positive affirmations you put back when times were good.   The hardest part of experiencing bad times is accepting that they have any value for our life.  I’m here to tell you that they do.  During the bad times, the lessons or the self-development opportunities may not be apparent at first.  That’s why the way you manage and react to stress is important.  It sets the tone for how the situation will go and what you will get out of it.

Moving On

Nothing remains the same all the time and neither do we.  We are in motion just like the universe.  We live, experience, and develop through life.  It’s up to us how smooth the process occurs.  The wonderful news is that we can move on.  The reality is the good and bad times will cycle through again.

When moving on be sure to let go and embrace.  Let go of any negativity from the bad times and embrace the lessons and the opportunities for growth.  Give yourself space and time to reflect between the cycles of life.  Challenge yourself to write down the wisdom you gained.

With this blog, I challenge you to accept the good and the bad willingly.  I heard something that made a lot of sense to me in my moment of bad times.  It’s better to live in the light of understanding than in regret.  Take every opportunity to grow and learn about life in whatever situation you find yourself.   This is the key to a fulfilling life.
